One week ago today marks the first public event Spruce Soda has had the pleasure of participating in. Over 20 local Minnesota vendors set up shop at the Norseman Distillery in NE, Minneapolis on Saturday afternoon to showcase beautiful, locally made products. We were so excited to be able to meet so many awesome people dedicated to their craft and excited to share enthusiasm for their product. Over 800 people showed up to support all of the local businesses represented. As a brand new company it was really quite an honor to be among so many exceptional Minnesota Businesses.
If you are reading this, chances are you have already tried our Ginger Beer. For those of you who are unfamiliar with Spruce Soda, let me give you a few quick highlights to date.
The idea for Spruce Soda took shape several months ago while Bryant, our beverage whiz was experimenting with different ginger beer recipes to be served at the coffee bar where he works. Jon, inspired by the clean and balanced flavors of Bryants ginger beer approached us with an idea. What if we could build on his ginger beer and create something bigger; a craft soda company dedicated to brewing specialty, botanical sodas using real ingredients. It took a bit of convincing but after a few weeks, all three of us were on board. And after three months, several ginger beer recipes and a few failed bottling attempts, we are finally at the edge of what might be a very exciting adventure.
As of right now, all we have one awesome ginger beer and a whole lot of ideas. We are really excited for the possibilities and are very thankful to live and work in such a small-business focused community where hard work and craft are appreciated. Many thanks goes out to William Rogue, Marked Leather and Mill City Fineries for organizing this event and for Norseman Distillery for being such a gracious host. It was so nice to meet all of you. We are anxiously looking forward to what comes next.
